Storm Try-Outs
The MVSA Storm Softball program is the oldest, most established, and most successful program for providing top-notch fastpitch softball in Montgomery County. The program is entering its fourteenth season and has consistently produced some of the very best players in the region. Headed by an experienced, highly respected softball commissioner, Storm boasts some of the very best coaching and instruction assembled for producing fastpitch softball talent. Six current coaches, to include three returning players, played fastpitch softball (ASA and College), competed, and won at the highest levels, with a combined 64 years of softball tournament coaching experience. MVSA has its own practice fields and facilities. Year in and year out, MVSA Storm programs have recruited the best talent in the area and produced some of the best teams on the East Coast.
Our program accomplishments include:
One of the inherent problems in select softball programs is finding experienced and qualified coaches. We have knowledgeable and experienced coaches in the Storm program who have played fastpitch softball and have traveled and competed at the highest levels (our current 18U coach is entering his tenth year of coaching at the 18U level). While we rely heavily on parent volunteers as coaches, we are proud of the fact that many of our former 18U players are now returning to coach. Our returning player coaches are former All-Met, All-Decade, All-County players who were also recruited to play in college. Our goal is to have established former player coaches at every age level so we can offer the best and most consistent coaching instruction available.
Most who have participated in the 18U Storm program who have pursued the opportunity to play in college have gone on to play for the college of their choosing, including:
